Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup coleslaw (optional, for topping)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper and pound to an even thickness of about 1 inch.
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this seasoning blend all over the chicken breasts.
- Grill the chicken breasts for about 6-7 minutes on one side without moving them.
- Flip the chicken and grill for another 6-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Whisk until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Slice the rested chicken breasts into strips or leave them whole.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Spread a generous amount of white BBQ sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
- Place the sliced or whole grilled chicken on top of the sauce. Add coleslaw if desired.
- Drizzle more white BBQ sauce over the coleslaw, if desired, and place the top half of the bun on each sandwich.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve the sandwiches immediately while warm, paired with sweet potato fries or a simple green salad.
- Store leftover chicken and sauce separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator. Chicken lasts 3-4 days; sauce lasts up to a week.
- Reheat chicken in the microwave or on the stovetop until heated through, or grill again for a fresh taste.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the seasoning in the white BBQ sauce to your taste.
- This recipe is versatile; you can add other toppings like pickles or cheese if desired.
