Instructions
- Select a ripe watermelon that feels heavy for its size and has a smooth skin with a creamy yellow spot.
- Rinse the watermelon under cool running water and pat dry.
- Slice the watermelon in half lengthwise, then cut each half into quarters.
- Scoop out the bright red flesh using a spoon or melon baller, avoiding the rind, and place it in a large bowl.
- Transfer the watermelon flesh to a blender and blend on high speed until liquefied (about 30 seconds to 1 minute).
- For a smoother juice, strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher.
- Stir in the fresh lime juice to enhance flavor.
- Taste and add honey or agave syrup if desired, adjusting sweetness to preference.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes if desired and pour the chilled juice over the ice.
