Description

The Ultimate Paloma Cocktail is a refreshing blend of tequila, fresh lime juice, and grapefruit soda, perfect for warm days. This vibrant drink is easy to make and can be customized with agave syrup for added sweetness. Serve it over ice with a salted rim and garnished with grapefruit and lime for a delightful experience. Ideal for gatherings or a relaxing afternoon!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz tequila (preferably blanco)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz grapefruit soda (like Squirt or Fresca)
  • 1/2 oz agave syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Salt (for rimming the glass)
  • Ice cubes
  • Grapefruit wedge (for garnish)
  • Lime wheel (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing your glass. Use a highball or rocks glass. Moisten the rim with a lime wedge.
  2. Dip the rim into a small plate of salt and set the glass aside to let the salt adhere.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila and fresh lime juice. Use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best flavor.
  4. If desired, add the agave syrup to the shaker for sweetness.
  5. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, covering the liquid completely.
  6. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  7. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice cubes.
  8. Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass over the ice.
  9. Top off the drink with grapefruit soda, pouring gently to avoid excessive fizz.
  10. Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit on the rim and a lime wheel. Optionally, add a sprig of fresh mint for aroma.
  11. Serve immediately while cold and refreshing. Perfect for gatherings or sunny afternoons.
  12. For a party, multiply the ingredients and mix in a pitcher, adding grapefruit soda just before serving.

Notes

  • Experiment with flavored tequila for an extra kick.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila with additional grapefruit soda or sparkling water.
  • Always use fresh ingredients for the best taste.
  • Adjust sweetness to your preference by modifying the amount of agave syrup.
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for a few hours, but consume fresh for optimal flavor.
