Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well until the beef is evenly coated.
  2. Let the beef marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to an hour in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.
  3. Wash and slice the red and green bell peppers into thin strips.
  4. Peel and slice the onion into thin wedges.
  5. Mince the garlic and ginger finely.
  6. Cut the broccoli into small florets.
  7. Rinse the snap peas and set aside.
  8. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  9. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes without stirring. Cook until browned, about 3-4 more minutes, then remove from the skillet.
  10. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  11. Add the sliced onions, bell peppers, broccoli, and snap peas. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  12. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and pour in the sesame oil. Stir to combine.
  13. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add more soy sauce or oyster sauce if desired.
  14. Prepare your rice or noodles according to package instructions.
  15. Serve the stir-fry over the cooked rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the vegetables based on your preference or what you have on hand.
  • For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers during the cooking process.
