Strawberry Lemonade Drink: Refreshing Recipe for Summer Sips

  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 glasses 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing homemade Strawberry Lemonade that perfectly balances the sweetness of fresh strawberries with the tangy brightness of lemons. Ideal for hot summer days, this delightful drink is sure to quench your thirst and can be easily customized with garnishes or a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Extra lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold running water. Hull the strawberries by removing the green tops and slice them into halves or quarters.
  2. Place the sliced strawberries into a blender and blend on high speed until smooth (about 30 seconds to a minute). If desired, strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the cold water and stir again to combine.
  4. Pour the strawberry puree into the pitcher with the lemonade base and stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness with more sugar if needed.
  5. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to allow flavors to meld. Alternatively, serve immediately over ice.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled strawberry lemonade over the ice. Add reserved strawberry slices for decoration and garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, top each glass with a splash of club soda or sparkling water before serving.
  • For an adult twist, add a splash of vodka or rum, adjusting sweetness as needed.
  • Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir before serving as the puree may settle.
