  • Total Time: 255 minutes
  • Yield: 10-12 shots 1x

Description

Boozy Strawberry Daiquiri Jello Shots! A fun, festive party treat combining classic cocktail flavors into a jiggly, delicious bite. Easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3 ounce) package strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup white rum (or more, to taste)
  • 1/4 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • Optional: Granulated sugar, for coating
  • Optional: Fresh strawberries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the Gelatin: In a large bowl, carefully pour in the boiling water. Add the strawberry flavored gelatin powder and whisk continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved (2-3 minutes). Ensure no lumps remain.
  2. Cool Slightly: Let the gelatin mixture cool for a few minutes until warm, not scalding.
  3. Add Cold Water and Lime Juice: Stir in the cold water and freshly squeezed lime juice. Combine well.
  4. Incorporate the Rum: Gently stir in the white rum. Adjust the amount to your liking, but be mindful of the alcohol content.
  5. Prepare Shot Glasses/Cups: Arrange shot glasses or small plastic cups on a baking sheet or tray.
  6. Pour the Mixture: Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into the shot glasses/cups, filling them almost to the top.
  7. Refrigerate to Set: Place the baking sheet/tray with the filled shot glasses in the refrigerator. Chill for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to ensure they are completely set.
  8. (Optional) Prepare the Sugar: Pour some granulated sugar onto a small plate or shallow dish.
  9. (Optional) Dip the Shot Glasses: Lightly dip the rim of each shot glass into the sugar, creating a sweet and sparkly coating.
  10. (Optional) Garnish with Strawberries: Before serving, you can garnish each shot with a small slice of fresh strawberry.
  11. Serving: Serve the Strawberry Daiquiri Jello Shots chilled. They are best enjoyed cold! You can also keep them refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality rum for the best flavor.
  • Fresh lime juice is key for a brighter taste.
  • Don’t overdo the alcohol, or the gelatin won’t set properly.
  • Be patient and allow the jello shots to chill for the recommended time.
  • To easily remove the jello shots from the cups, you can gently loosen the edges with a toothpick or a small knife. You can also briefly dip the bottom of the cup in warm water (be careful not to melt the jello!).
  • Experiment with different flavors of gelatin and types of alcohol.
  • Jello shots are perfect for making ahead of time. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • A little bit of effort in presentation can go a long way. Garnishing with fresh fruit or adding a sugar coating can make your jello shots look extra special.
