Sweet, spicy, and refreshing Jalapeno Watermelon Margarita the perfect summer cocktail!
Ingredients

- 6 cups cubed seedless watermelon, plus extra for garnish
- 2 jalapenos, seeded and roughly chopped (adjust to your spice preference)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4–6 limes)
- 1/4 cup agave nectar (or simple syrup, adjust to taste)
- 6 ounces tequila blanco (silver tequila)
- 3 ounces orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- Ice
- Lime wedges, for garnish
- Salt or chili-lime seasoning for rimming the glasses (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the 6 cups of cubed watermelon and the 2 seeded and roughly chopped jalapenos.
- Blend until completely smooth.
- (Optional) Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp.
- Taste and adjust the spice level by adding more jalapeno or watermelon juice as needed.
- In a pitcher, combine the watermelon-jalapeno puree, fresh lime juice, agave nectar (or simple syrup), tequila blanco, and orange liqueur.
- Stir well until all ingredients are combined and the agave nectar or simple syrup is fully dissolved.
- (Optional) Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- (Optional) Rim the glasses with salt or chili-lime seasoning.
- Fill each glass with ice.
- Pour the margarita mixture into the prepared glasses.
- Garnish with a watermelon wedge and a lime wedge.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Spice Level: Adjust the amount of jalapeno to your preference. Start with one and add more to taste.
- Tequila: Tequila blanco is recommended, but reposado or añejo can be used for a richer flavor.
- Sweetness: Adjust the amount of agave nectar or simple syrup to your liking, depending on the sweetness of the watermelon.
- Mocktail: Omit the tequila and orange liqueur and replace them with sparkling water or club soda.
- Frozen Margarita: Blend all ingredients with ice for a frozen version.
- Make Ahead: The watermelon-jalapeno puree and the margarita mixture (without ice) can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
