Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound baby potatoes, halved
  • 2 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 1/2 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Aluminum foil (heavy-duty recommended)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water. Peel and devein if not already done. Optionally, leave tails on for presentation.
  2. Wash the baby potatoes thoroughly and cut them in half for even cooking.
  3. Cut the ears of corn into thirds.
  4. Cut the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Melt the unsalted butter and mix in minced garlic, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Tear off large sheets of aluminum foil (12-14 inches long).
  7. Place halved baby potatoes in the center of each foil piece.
  8. Layer corn pieces and sliced sausage on top of the potatoes.
  9. Place shrimp on top of the sausage and corn.
  10. Pour the melted butter and seasoning mixture over the ingredients.
  11. Place lemon slices on top of the shrimp.
  12. Fold the sides of the foil over the ingredients and seal tightly.
  13. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F) or oven to 400°F.
  14. Place packets on grill grates or a baking sheet. Cook for 15-20 minutes.
  15. After 15 minutes, carefully open one packet to check if shrimp are pink and potatoes are tender. If not, reseal and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  16. Remove packets from heat and let sit for a minute before opening.
  17. Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the top.
  18. Serve directly in the foil for a rustic presentation, with plates and forks ready.
  19. Dig in and savor the flavors!

Notes

  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste; feel free to add more spices or herbs.
  • You can substitute the smoked sausage with chorizo or kielbasa for a different flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the butter mixture.
