- 1/4 cup milk or milk alternative (almond, oat, soy, etc.)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes (if making iced protein coffee)
- Whipped cream or foam (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Brew Your Coffee: Start by brewing your favorite coffee using a coffee maker, French press, or any method you prefer. Aim for a strong brew, especially if making iced coffee.
- Mix the Protein Powder: In a bowl or shaker, add your scoop of protein powder. If using cocoa powder for a mocha flavor, add it here as well.
- Add Sweetener: Add your sweetener of choice to the protein powder. Adjust the amount based on your sweetness preference.
- Combine with Milk: Pour in the 1/4 cup of milk or milk alternative. Shake or whisk until smooth and well combined.
- Mix with Coffee: Pour the brewed coffee into a large mug or glass. If making iced coffee, fill a glass with ice first. Slowly pour the protein mixture into the coffee while stirring continuously.
- Add Vanilla Extract: If using, add the vanilla extract and stir well.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste your protein coffee and adjust sweetness or flavor as desired.
- Top It Off: Optionally, top with whipped cream or foam and sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon for an extra touch.
- Brew Coffee in Advance: Brew coffee ahead of time and let it cool. Store in the fridge for a quick option.
- Prepare the Protein Mixture: Mix protein powder, sweetener, and milk as described above.
- Fill Glass with Ice: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Combine Coffee and Protein Mixture: Pour cooled coffee over the ice, then add the protein mixture. Stir well.
