Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in milk and olive oil. Mix until the dough starts to come together.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick (approximately 12×16 inches).
  6. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add pepperoni or other toppings.
  8. Sprinkle oregano and garlic powder over the cheese and toppings.
  9. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough tightly and pinch the seam to seal.
  10. Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch thick pieces (about 12-15 scrolls) and place cut-side up on a lined baking sheet.
  11. Beat the egg in a small bowl.
  12. Brush the tops of the scrolls with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  14. Let the scrolls cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes.
  15. Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy warm with extra pizza sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences. Vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives can be great additions.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding some crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
