  • Yield: 16-24 brownies 1x

Description

Fudgy chocolate brownies swirled with a creamy peanut butter fudge. These decadent brownies are easy to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chopped peanuts
  • Chocolate chips
  • Sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large, microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, or in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until mostly dissolved and smooth.
  3. Add cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Stir until well combined and no lumps remain.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add flour and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine peanut butter and softened butter.
  7. Add powdered sugar and mix well until mostly incorporated.
  8. Add milk and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Add a tiny bit more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  10. Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  11. Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter fudge mixture over the top of the brownie batter.
  12. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the peanut butter fudge into the brownie batter.
  13. If desired, sprinkle with chopped peanuts, chocolate chips, or sea salt flakes.
  14. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  15. Cool completely in the pan before cutting.
  16. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer flavor.
  • Don’t overmix the brownie batter.
  • Use room temperature eggs for a smoother batter.
  • Adjust baking time as needed based on your oven.
  • Cool completely before cutting for clean slices.
  • Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Make ahead: You can make the brownie batter and peanut butter fudge swirl ahead of time and store them separately in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Bring them to room temperature before assembling and baking.
  • Variations: Feel free to experiment with different variations of this recipe. You can add chopped nuts, chocolate chunks, or even a layer of caramel to the brownies.
