Peach Cobbler Cake Mix: Easy Recipe & Baking Tips

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

Easy Peach Cobbler Cake with cake mix and canned peach pie filling. A simple, comforting dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1 can (21 ounces) peach pie filling
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Optional: Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Pour the peach pie filling into the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon and nutmeg evenly over the peach pie filling. If using nuts, sprinkle them over the peach mixture.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Pour the cake batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top of the cake starts to brown too quickly, loosely tent it with aluminum foil.
  5. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Cut into squares and serve warm. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
  6. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Spice Adjustment: Feel free to adjust the amount of cinnamon and nutmeg to your preference.
  • Nut Options: Pecans and walnuts are great, but almonds would also work well.
  • Don’t Overmix: Overmixing the cake batter can result in a tough cake.
  • Fruit Filling Variations: Try using apple, cherry, blueberry, or mixed berry pie filling instead of peach.
  • Cake Mix Variations: White cake mix or spice cake mix can also be used.
  • Gluten-Free: Use a gluten-free cake mix and ensure all other ingredients are gluten-free to make this recipe gluten-free.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. A sprinkle of extra cinnamon or chopped nuts is also a nice touch.
