  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 glasses 1x

Description

Enjoy a refreshing Passion Fruit Iced Tea, combining robust black tea with sweet passion fruit juice and zesty lemon. Perfect for hot days, this delightful drink is easy to make and can be garnished with fresh mint for an extra touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags (or your favorite tea)
  • 1 cup passion fruit juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Passion fruit pulp (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a medium-sized pot. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, then remove the tea bags and cool the tea to room temperature.
  2. In a separate bowl or pitcher, combine 1 cup of passion fruit juice and 1/2 cup of sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice to the mixture.
  3. Pour the cooled tea into the passion fruit mixture and stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary. Add ice cubes directly to the pitcher if serving immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the passion fruit iced tea over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a spoonful of passion fruit pulp.
  5. Stir gently to mix in the garnishes and enjoy the refreshing blend of flavors!

Notes

  • For an exotic twist, add a splash of coconut water or fresh ginger during brewing.
  • For a non-sweetened version, skip the sugar or use a natural sweetener like honey.
  • This iced tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; stir before serving.
