Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- Ice cubes
- Mint sprigs for garnish
- Lime wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Brew your favorite medium roast coffee and let it cool to room temperature. You can speed up the cooling process by placing it in the fridge.
- Once cooled, taste the coffee and add sugar to your preference, stirring until dissolved.
- Rinse the fresh mint leaves under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Cut a lime in half and squeeze the juice from one half into a small bowl, reserving the other half for garnish.
- In a large glass or cocktail shaker, combine the cooled coffee, milk, lime juice, and sugar. Stir or shake well to mix.
- Gently muddle the mint leaves in the bottom of the glass or shaker to release their oils, being careful not to shred them.
- Fill the glass or shaker with ice cubes to keep the drink cold.
- If using a shaker, pour the mixture over the ice in a tall glass. If mixed in a glass, stir well to distribute the mint.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass.
- Stir again before enjoying to ensure the mint flavor is evenly distributed.
