Quick and easy Lemon Garlic Shrimp, bursting with bright flavors! Perfect served over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional, but highly recommended!)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Cooked pasta or rice, for serving (optional)
- Crusty bread, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse shrimp under cold water and pat dry. Devein if necessary. Toss with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
- Cook Shrimp: Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
- Deglaze (Optional): If using wine, pour into the skillet and simmer for 1 minute, scraping up browned bits.
- Add Lemon and Butter: Stir in lemon juice, butter, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 1 minute, until butter is melted and sauce slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parsley: Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
- Serve: Serve over pasta, rice, with crusty bread, or as desired.
Notes
- Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
- Don’t overcook the shrimp!
- Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- For a creamier sauce, stir in a splash of heavy cream at the end.
