  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Quick and easy Lemon Garlic Shrimp, bursting with bright flavors! Perfect served over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional, but highly recommended!)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your spice preference)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta or rice, for serving (optional)
  • Crusty bread, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse shrimp under cold water and pat dry. Devein if necessary. Toss with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
  4. Deglaze (Optional): If using wine, pour into the skillet and simmer for 1 minute, scraping up browned bits.
  5. Add Lemon and Butter: Stir in lemon juice, butter, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 1 minute, until butter is melted and sauce slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in Parsley: Remove from heat and stir in parsley.
  7. Serve: Serve over pasta, rice, with crusty bread, or as desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp!
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
  • For a creamier sauce, stir in a splash of heavy cream at the end.
  • Marinate the shrimp for 30 minutes before cooking for even more flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
