- 4 black tea bags (or 4 tablespoons loose black tea)
- 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice)
- 1/4 cup vanilla syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Cinnamon sticks (for garnish, optional)
- Vanilla beans (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Boil 4 cups of water in a medium-sized pot.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and add black tea bags or loose black tea in a tea infuser.
- Let steep for 5-7 minutes, adjusting steeping time for desired strength.
- Remove tea bags or strain out loose tea. For a smoother finish, strain again through a coffee filter or fine mesh sieve.
- While warm, add 1/4 cup of sugar to the tea and stir until dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature or refrigerate to speed up the process.
- Transfer cooled tea to a large pitcher.
- In a bowl, combine 1 cup of milk with 1/4 cup of vanilla syrup and whisk until well combined.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour cooled tea over the ice, filling the glass halfway.
- Slowly pour the milk and vanilla mixture over the tea, adjusting the ratio to your preference.
- Gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick or vanilla beans if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
