- 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 4 cups water (for hibiscus tea)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt for vegan option)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Ice cubes (optional, for desired consistency)
- Pineapple wedge or hibiscus flower (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Hibiscus Tea Concentrate: Rinse hibiscus flowers. In a saucepan, combine flowers and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain and cool completely.
- Blend Smoothie: In a blender, combine frozen pineapple, cooled hibiscus tea, yogurt, honey/maple syrup, ginger, cinnamon, and lime juice.
- Blend until smooth. Add more hibiscus tea or water if too thick.
- Adjust sweetness to taste with more honey/maple syrup or lime juice.
- Add ice for a thicker, colder smoothie (optional).
- Serve: Pour into glasses. Garnish with pineapple wedge or hibiscus flower (optional). Serve immediately.
