  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing tropical mocktail with fresh guava puree and tangy limeade, perfect for hot days. Easy to customize and enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe guavas, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup water (more if needed for blending)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 810 limes)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • Lime slices, for garnish
  • Mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Sparkling water or club soda (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel, and roughly chop the guavas.
  2. Add chopped guavas and 1/4 cup water to a blender. Add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, if needed to blend smoothly.
  3. Add sugar and lime juice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness/tartness.
  4. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a super smooth puree.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Squeeze limes to get 1 cup of fresh juice.
  7. Combine sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool completely.
  8. In a pitcher, combine cooled simple syrup, lime juice, and remaining 3 cups water. Stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness/tartness. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Fill glasses with ice cubes.
  10. Pour about 1/4 cup guava puree into each glass.
  11. Fill the rest of the glass with chilled limeade.
  12. Top with a splash of sparkling water or club soda.
  13. Garnish with a lime slice and mint sprig.
  14. Gently stir and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a small slice of jalapeño to the guava puree while blending.
  • Muddle basil leaves or cilantro sprigs in the bottom of the glass before adding the guava puree for an herbal twist.
  • Experiment with other fruits in the puree, such as mango, pineapple, or passion fruit.
  • Use honey, agave nectar, or stevia instead of granulated sugar.
  • Add a shot of white rum or tequila to make it an adult beverage.
  • Blend all the ingredients together with ice for a frozen slushy version.
  • The guava puree can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • The limeade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • It’s best to assemble the mocktail just before serving to prevent the ice from melting and diluting the flavors.
