Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- Aluminum foil (for grilling)
- Optional: caramel sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- Start by washing the apples thoroughly under cold water to remove any wax or residue. Pat them dry with a clean towel.
- Using a sharp knife, carefully core each apple. You want to remove the seeds and create a hollow center without cutting through the bottom.
- In a small bowl, mix together the crushed graham crackers, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Once mixed, add the melted butter to the graham cracker mixture. Stir until the mixture is well combined and resembles wet sand.
- Take a spoonful of the graham cracker mixture and carefully stuff it into the hollowed-out center of each apple.
- Next, sprinkle a layer of chocolate chips on top of the graham cracker filling.
- Finally, top each apple with a handful of mini marshmallows.
- Cut four large squares of aluminum foil, enough to wrap each apple securely.
- Place each stuffed apple in the center of a piece of foil. Drizzle a little caramel sauce over the top of the marshmallows if desired.
- Wrap the foil around the apple, making sure its sealed tightly to keep the heat in while grilling.
- Preheat your grill to medium heat.
- Once the grill is ready, place the wrapped apples directly on the grill grates. Close the lid and let them cook for about 15-20 minutes.
- After about 10 minutes, carefully check one of the apples by unwrapping the foil slightly.
- When the apples are done, you should see the marshmallows puffed up and golden brown, and the chocolate melted beautifully.
- Once the apples are perfectly grilled, carefully remove them from the grill using tongs.
- Unwrap the foil carefully, allowing the steam to escape.
- For serving, place each grilled apple on a plate. Drizzle a little more caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle some extra crushed graham crackers for garnish.
- Grab a spoon and dig in!
