Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs Sirloin Steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) Unsalted Butter
- 6 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1/4 tsp Salt (or to taste)
- Extra Fresh Parsley, chopped
- Sesame Seeds
- Green Onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak: Pat the sirloin steak cubes dry with paper towels.
- Season the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Add the steak cubes to the bowl and toss thoroughly to coat.
- Marinate (Optional): For enhanced flavor, marinate the seasoned beef in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to a few hours.
- Heat the Pan: Place a large skillet (cast iron is ideal) over medium-high heat. Allow the pan to heat up completely.
- Sear the Beef: Add the seasoned beef cubes to the hot skillet in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Sear each side of the beef cubes for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are nicely browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130-135°F (54-57°C). For medium, aim for 135-145°F (57-63°C). Use a meat thermometer to ensure accuracy.
- Remove from Pan: Once the beef bites are cooked to your liking, remove them from the skillet and set them aside on a plate. Tent them loosely with foil to keep them warm while you prepare the garlic butter sauce.
- Melt the Butter: In the same skillet (no need to clean it!), melt the butter over medium heat.
- Sauté the Garlic: Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté the garlic for about 1-2 minutes, or until it is fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as this will make the sauce bitter. Keep a close eye on it and stir frequently.
- Add Remaining Ingredients: Stir in the fresh parsley, lemon juice, red pepper flakes (if using), and salt. Cook for another minute, stirring constantly, until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened.
- Add Beef to Sauce: Return the seared beef bites to the skillet with the garlic butter sauce. Toss to coat the beef evenly in the sauce.
- Simmer (Optional): If you want the flavors to meld together even more, you can simmer the beef bites in the sauce for a minute or two. This is entirely optional, but it can enhance the overall flavor.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the garlic butter beef bites immediately while they are hot and juicy. Garnish with extra fresh parsley, sesame seeds, and/or thinly sliced green onions, if desired.
