Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of brewed coffee (cooled to room temperature)
- 1 cup of milk (whole, skim, or your preferred non-dairy alternative)
- 2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup of heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Ice cubes
- Chocolate syrup (for drizzling, optional)
- Cocoa powder or instant coffee (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Brew your favorite coffee (about 2 cups) and let it cool to room temperature. You can speed up the cooling by placing it in the fridge.
- Taste the cooled coffee and add sugar to your liking (about 2 tablespoons is typical). Stir until dissolved.
- Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the coffee and stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl or pitcher, pour in 1 cup of milk (whole, skim, or non-dairy).
- For extra creaminess, add 1/4 cup of heavy cream to the milk (optional) and mix well.
- In a blender, combine the cooled coffee mixture and the milk mixture. Blend on high for about 30 seconds for a frothy texture, or less for a smoother consistency.
- Taste the blended mixture and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Fill a glass with ice cubes (preferably large to prevent dilution).
- Pour the blended coffee mixture over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
- For a decorative touch, drizzle chocolate syrup inside the glass before pouring in the coffee.
- Optionally, whip some heavy cream until soft peaks form and dollop it on top of the cold coffee. Garnish with cocoa powder or instant coffee if desired.
- Stir gently with a straw or spoon to mix in the whipped cream.
- Enjoy your homemade cold coffee, perfect for any occasion!
Notes
- Experiment with flavors by adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg, or even a scoop of ice cream for a dessert twist.
- For a mocha version, blend in chocolate syrup with the coffee before mixing with milk.
- Freeze coffee into ice cubes to prevent dilution in your drink.
- Adjust the coffee-to-milk ratio to suit your taste preferences.
