  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

This refreshing Coffee Soda blends rich coffee flavors with sparkling water for a delightful beverage, perfect for warm afternoons or a fun pick-me-up. Customize with flavored syrups and garnishes for a unique twist!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup freshly brewed coffee (cooled to room temperature)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: flavored syrups (vanilla, caramel, hazelnut)
  • Optional: whipped cream for topping
  • Optional: coffee beans or chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew a strong cup of coffee using a medium to dark roast for a richer flavor. Let the coffee cool to room temperature, or refrigerate for 15-20 minutes if in a hurry.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water (1 cup each). Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves (about 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool. Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to a month.
  3. In a tall glass, fill halfway with ice cubes. Pour the cooled coffee over the ice until the glass is half full. Add the simple syrup (start with 2 tablespoons) and any flavored syrups you desire.
  4. Gently pour the sparkling water or club soda over the coffee mixture until the glass is nearly full. Stir gently to combine without losing too much carbonation.
  5. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with coffee beans or chocolate shavings.
  6. Serve immediately with a straw or long spoon. For gatherings, set up a coffee soda bar with various flavored syrups and garnishes for guests to customize their drinks.

Notes

  • Experiment with different types of coffee, such as cold brew for a smoother taste or espresso for a stronger kick.
  • Try flavored sparkling water for an extra twist.
  • For a dessert-like treat, blend in ice cream instead of ice cubes for a coffee float.
  • Best enjoyed fresh; if storing leftovers, keep in the fridge in a sealed container, but note that carbonation will diminish over time.
