  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing Cara Cara Margarita Mocktail with sweet-tart orange, lime, and sparkling water. Perfect non-alcoholic treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Cara Cara oranges
  • 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar (or simple syrup), adjust to taste
  • 4 cups sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Salt or sugar for rimming the glasses
  • Optional: Cara Cara orange slices and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Juice the Cara Cara Oranges: Juice the oranges to yield about 1 cup of juice. Remove any seeds.
  2. Juice the Lime: Juice the lime to yield about 2 tablespoons of juice. Remove any seeds.
  3. (Optional) Strain the Juices: Strain the orange and lime juices through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp.
  4. Combine Juices and Sweetener: In a pitcher, combine the Cara Cara orange juice, lime juice, and agave nectar (or simple syrup).
  5. Stir Well: Stir the mixture thoroughly until the agave nectar is completely dissolved.
  6. (Optional) Chill: Chill the juice mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. (Optional) Rim the Glasses: Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Pour a thin layer of salt or sugar onto a small plate. Gently press the moistened rim of each glass into the salt or sugar, rotating until the entire rim is coated.
  8. Add Ice: Fill each glass with ice cubes.
  9. Pour the Mocktail: Pour the Cara Cara orange and lime juice mixture into the prepared glasses, filling them about halfway.
  10. Top with Sparkling Water: Top each glass with sparkling water or club soda.
  11. Garnish (Optional): Garnish each mocktail with a Cara Cara orange slice and a lime wedge.
  12. Stir Gently: Stir the mocktail gently to combine the juice mixture and sparkling water.
  13. Serve Immediately: Serve the Cara Cara Margarita Mocktails immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the agave nectar (or simple syrup) to your desired sweetness.
  • Chilling the juice mixture allows the flavors to meld.
  • For a smoother mocktail, strain the juices.
  • Experiment with variations like adding jalapeño slices for spice, muddling mint or basil for an herbal twist, or blending with ice for a frozen mocktail.
  • Juice the oranges and limes up to 24 hours in advance and store the juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • You can also combine the orange juice, lime juice, and agave nectar up to 24 hours in advance and store the mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
