  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crispy and flavorful air fryer potato wedges seasoned with garlic, onion, and smoked paprika. A quick and easy side dish perfect for any meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large russet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped fresh parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, dipping sauces (ketchup, ranch, aioli)

Instructions

  1. Wash and Prep the Potatoes: Scrub potatoes under cold water. Pat dry. Cut each potato lengthwise into 6-8 wedges.
  2. Soaking (Optional): Soak wedges in cold water for 30 minutes to 2 hours. Drain, rinse, and pat completely dry.
  3. Seasoning: In a large bowl, combine potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Air Fry: Place wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Check for Doneness: Insert a fork or toothpick into the thickest part of a wedge. It should slide in easily.
  7. Serve: Transfer to a serving plate. Sprinkle with parsley and Parmesan cheese (if desired). Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
  8. Storage: Store leftover wedges in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer, oven, or microwave.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wedges, don’t skip the soaking step.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer and the thickness of the wedges.
  • Experiment with different seasonings to create your own flavor combinations.
  • Russet potatoes are best for crispy wedges due to their high starch content.
